Betty Lou Mertz

Betty Lou Mertz, 80, formerly of Country Meadows and Wyomissing, died on March 8, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. in ManorCare Sinking Spring.

Born August 11, 1927 in Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Carl and Dorothy Miriam (Flail) Mertz.

Betty was a 1945 graduate of Pottsville High School.

She was retired from the former Western Electric, now Lucent Technologies, Muhlenberg Township.

Surviving is a brother; Herbert C., husband of Mary H. of Riverview Park; sisters; Dolores M. (Mertz), wife of W. Russell Baum of Crestwood and Gloria Jean (Mertz) Gemmill of Blandon.

There is also a newphew, Kevin R. Baum of Reading and two nieces Carol J. Quillman of Laureldale and Martha M. Malak of Mohnton.

Graveside services will be private in Schuylkill County Memorial Park. A viewing will be private at the convenience of the family.
