Betty Jane Lerch

Betty Jane (Rentschler) Lerch, 65, of Laureldale, died October 12, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born February 17, 1946 in Reading, she was the daughter of Betty Jane (Freeland) Rentschler of Wyomissing and the late Merritt Jack Rentschler.

Betty was the wife of Robert David Lerch.

She was a 1964 graaduate of Wyomissing High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Albright College and a master's degree from Kutztown University.

Betty was a teacher with Reading School District for 25 years where she retired from. Subsequently she worked for Mortgage Network Solutions for 7 years as a mortgage broker.

During her teaching career, she taught in Germany and at Subic Bay in the Philippines.

Betty enjoyed traveling, and handcrafts.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
