Betty L. Leidel

Betty L. Leidel, 77 died September 3 at 8:50 PM in her Spring Township residence.

She was the wife of Alvin G. Leidel.

Born in Cumru Township, she was the daughter of the late Ralph F. and Florence (Manbeck) Hepler.

She was a graduate of Hamburg High School in 1946 and Allentown School of Nursing in 1949.

Leidel was employed as a Registered Nurse for 30 years. She was first employed by Allentown General Hospital, later by Reading Hospital and finally by Community General Hospital until her retirement in 1978.

She was a member of Advent Lutheran church, West Lawn.

Leidel is also survived by one son David A., Worcester, MA and one daughter Peggy A. (Leidel) Reed, Greenfields.

She is also survived by one step-brother Richard Schilpp, Flying Hills. There are also 4 grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited for a time of remembrance Wednesday from 3 to 6 PM in the Leidel residence. Burial in Laureldale Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Betty's name. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
