Betty L. Buttery

Betty Louise (Toberman) Buttery, 85, formerly of Reading, died January 22, 2008 at 2:05 pm in Columbia Cottage, Spring Township, where she had been a resident since April 18, 2007.

She was the widow of Richard Joseph Buttery, who died September, 2000.

Born in Reading, PA. on February 4, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Glenn Esteen and Ruth Harriet (Lengle) Toberman.

She was a 1940 graduate of Reading High School.

Betty was employed a number of years as a bookkeeper with Toby's Wholesale Candy and Tobacco, Reading and later as a bookkeeper and secretary with Hettinger Brothers, Reading.

She was a member of Bausman Memorial United Church of Christ, Wyomissing.

Betty is survived by a sister, Jean E.(Toberman) widow of Dr. Samuel E. Ciriaco of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was also predeceased by two brothers, Glenn Toberman Jr., and Ralph Toberman.

Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Douglas L. Shaffer officiating.
