Betty Korczykowski, 84, went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2013. She was a long time resident of Brethren Village in Lancaster.
Her husband, Raymond Korczykowski, died in 1995.
A native of Lancaster, she was born November 27, 1928 to the late Abram and Lillian (Myers) Kreider.
Betty always served the Lord and was a former member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Reading.
In her younger years, she was a foster mother to many children who most needed her love and care. She also worked at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Betty was a fabulous baker whose shoofly pie, cream puffs, poppy seed bread and Christmas cookies are legendary to this day.
She is survived by her son, Roger, New York, NY, and six stepchildren: Raymond, David, Richard, Keith, Karen, and Brian. She is also survived by her sisters: Estella, widow of J. Martin Brubaker, and Anna, wife of Clarence Nissley and her brother, James, husband of Janet Kreider. She will be dearly missed by her beloved niece, Nancy Jean, wife of Michael Newcomer.
Betty was predeceased by her brother, John A. Kreider and her sister, Mary Ann Kreider.
Graveside Services will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
