Betty H. Kauffman

Betty H. Kauffman, 88 of Hamburg died April 2nd in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township where she had resided the past 4 years. She was the widow of Paul M. Kauffman, who died April 28, 2007. Betty was born in West Reading, PA and was the daughter of the late Lewis E. and Esther S. (Snyder) Shollenberger. She worked for 10 years in the business office of the Hamburg Area School District as a bookkeeper and was a dedicated homemaker for many years. Betty was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Hamburg. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and doing ceramic and porcelain crafts. Betty was an avid Phillies fan and loved and devoted much time to her grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sons: Stephen P. Kauffman, Glenmoore, PA and Peter A. Kauffman, State College, PA and 4 grandchildren Jason, Kristyn and David Kauffman and Katherine Cunningham. Betty was predeceased by a brother, Lewis I. Shollenberger and 1 sister Margaret B. Seidel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th St. Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday.
