Betty Jean Garraway

Betty J. Garraway, 83, formerly of Wyomissing & Phoebe Berks, Wernersville, passed away March 21, 2021, at the Reading Hospital.

She was the loving wife of James R. Garraway, married for 62 years.

Born on January 6, 1938 in Shamokin, Northumberland County, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Evelyn E. (Moyer) Rohrer.

She was a graduate of Coal Township High School, Class of 1955.

Betty is predeceased by a son, John W. Garraway in 2006. In addition to her husband, James Garraway, she is survived by her son James, Jr., husband of Deborah Garraway; two grandsons, Michael Garraway all living in Mechanicsburg, PA; Mark, living in Harrisburg, PA, and one great-grandchild, Nolan, son of Michael and Stephanie. All dearly loved by Betty. Other survivors include a brother, John, husband of Joan Rohrer living in Oxford, PA; one nephew, Rodney Rohrer and one niece, Rhonda (Rohrer) Merrill.

Betty also served as treasurer of the ladies Auxiliary of the Barbershop Harmony Society "Pretzel City Chorus" when it was active.

Betty and her husband enjoyed traveling and toured many countries throughout the world.

A viewing will be held for family and friends on Thursday March 25, 2021, from 3:00PM to 4:00PM with service to follow at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading .

Burial will take place on Friday March 26, 2021, at 11:00AM at the Odd Fellows Cemetery located at 2400 Trevorton Rd, Coal Township, PA 17866 (family and friends to meet at the cemetery).
