Betty Jane Bowers

Betty Jane (Tindle) Bowers, 80, of 79 Shore Drive, (Centre Township) Leesport, Pa 19533 died January 4th at 8:15 am in the St. Joseph Medical Center where she had been since November 26th.

She was the wife of Gerald M. Bowers.

Born in Temple, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John Madison and Ruth Viola (Stufflet) Tindle.

She was a 1940 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Bowers is also survived by a daughter, Carol Jean (Bowers) wife of Craig Dennis Weidenhammer of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include a sister, Eleanor J. (Tindle) Eddinger of Polk County, Florida; a grandson, Robert D. Weidenhammer of Allentown and two great granddaughters, Casey J. and Madison R. Weidenhammer both of Allentown.

Services and Burial will be private at the convinence of the family. Contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, P.O. Box 6531 Wyomissing, Pa 19610 or to the Humane Society 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, Pa 19604. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
