Betty J. Smith

Betty J. Smith, 86, of West Reading and formerly of Flying Hills, died December 12, 2012, in the Reading Hospital.

Her husband, Franklin R. Smith, died March 22, 1978.

Born in St. Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late William E., Sr. and Esther M. (Hoffman) Rapp.

She was a graduate of Reading High School.

Betty loved reading, crosswords and the movies.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Miller, with whom she resided, and Lori A., wife of Gregory Short, Birdsboro. Four grandchildren, Michelle, Emily, Lauren and Jack, and one great-grandson, Matthew also survive her.

Betty was predeceased by a grandson, John J. Bronchik and a brother, William Rapp.
