Betty F. Hafer

Betty F.(Johnson) Hafer, 79 of 109 George Street, Muhlenberg Township, died January 1, at 11:45 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital where she had been since December 30th. She was the wife of Charles F. Hafer. Born in Somersham, England, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Dorothy (Cooper) Johnson.

Hafer was employed for 25 years as a seamstress by Rachman Manufacturing, until her retirement.

She is also survived by three sons, Rodney D., of Muhlenberg Township; Leland D., of Reading; and Sterling D., of Temple.

Other survivors include a daughter, Beverly D. Hafer, of Exeter Township; a half-brother, George Cumberland of Huntingdon, England; and a sister, Brenda (Johnson) Hotchkiss, of Lacey,Washington.

There are 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Dr. Robert Stewart officiating. Viewing Tuesday 10am until time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
