Betty Evelyn Gravinese, 94, of Temple, passed away on December 9, 2025. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of John and Edith (Gerhart) Althouse.
Betty was a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. After raising her family, she served as a library clerk with the Muhlenberg school system.
In her younger years, Betty was a proud Boombadeer who loved to travel worldwide and explore new places. She was a true social butterfly, happiest when gathered with friends and family at her favorite restaurants and diners, sharing good meals and even better company. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, she was always cheering on the Phillies and the Eagles. Above all, Betty’s greatest pride and happiness came from her family. She cherished every gathering, every conversation, and every memory made with them. Her love for her family was the truest reflection of who she was, and it will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her best.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Stout (Jeffrey) and her son, Randy Gravinese (Tammy). Also surviving are her grandchildren: Matthew Stout (Amber), Megan Blew (Jeffrey), Shelby Geddio (Christopher), and Nicholas Gravinese, her great-grandchildren: Kyle, Maya, Chase, Cole, and Piper, and her step-great grandson, Stephen Haring. She will be deeply missed by her beloved cat, Kitty.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Unger.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:30AM at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Betty's family will receive guests from 10-11:30AM. Burial will follow at Salem Union Shalters Cemetery, Fleetwood.
