Betty L. Dooley

Betty L. Dooley, 89, a resident of the Highlands at Wyomissing, died Dec. 3 at 6:25 a.m. in the Highlands Skilled Nursing Unit.

She was the wife of Michael J. Dooley.

Born in York, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Nancy (Smyzer) Lehman.

Dooley was employed as a secretary and stenographer, retiring in 1977.

She was a graduate of Reading High School.

Dooley was a volunteer driver in the Philadelphia area during World War II for military officers.

She is also survived by a son, Edward P., Boston, and two daughters, Diana (Dooley) Appel, Elkins Park, Montgomery County, and Nancy A. (Dooley) Thagard, Clinton, N.C.

Other survivors include four grandchildren.

Services will be private. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
