Bessie E. Fry

Bessie Ella Fry, 96, formerly of Schuylkill Avenue, died Feb. 13 at 11:55 a.m. in Berks Heim, where she had resided since Feb. 1, 2001.

Her husband, Luther W. Fry, died June 3, 1993.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George S. and Martha M. (Bixenstine) Schell.

Fry was employed for 33 years as a seamer by Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing, until her retirement.

She was a member of Wesleyan Bible Holiness Church, Ephrata.

Surviving are four stepdaughters: Mary E. (Fry) Dierolf and Verna M. (Fry) Bewley, both of Reading; Ruth E. (Fry) Folk, Stouchsburg; and Jane H. (Fry) Folk, Wernersville.

Other survivors include 11 stepgrandchildren and 18 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
