Bertha M. Saltzman

Bertha M. (Gillespie) Saltzman, 92, formerly of Leesport, died September 11, 2009 in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township.

She was the widow of George Saltzman who died in 1997.

Born February 19, 1917 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Russell L. and Bertha T. (Kopp) Gillespie.

Bertha was a graduate of Shamokin High School.

She was employed as a waitress for Arner's Restaurant, retiring in 1970.

Surviving is one son, Preston J., husband of Susan M. Derck of Mohrsville.

There is also one granddaughter, Heather M., wife of James Malick and their three children, Chaney, Rylee and Emme.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
