Bernice S. Wayne

Bernice S. Wayne, 87, of West Reading, died January 29, 2007 in the Reading Hospital following an automobile accident in Wyomissing.

She was the wife of the late Edward I. Wayne, former Mayor of West Reading, who died August 6, 2002.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Carson and Martha (Wise) Sterling.

Wayne was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Wyomissing.

She was a graduate of Paradise High School, Lancaster County, graduating in 1937, and attended McCann School of Business, Reading.

Survivors incluce two sons, Dennis E., and wife Linda, West Reading, and Douglas S. Pahoa, Hawaii.

Other survivors include ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Services will be held in First Church of the Brethren, Monday 10 a.m.. Interment will be held in Idiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Monday from 9 to 10 a.m..
