Bernice C. Quackenbush

Bernice C. (Cupp) Quackenbush, 98, formerly of West Lawn, died December 18th at 4:10 am in the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville, where she had been since December 10th.

She was the widow of Dana S. Quackenbush, who died in 1981.

Born in Thorne, North Dakota, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Etta (Anderson) Cupp.

Quackenbush was a graduate of Rolla (N.D.)High School, Valley City (N.D) Teachers College, Valley City and a graduate of Columbia University Teachers College, New York City.

She was employed 39 years as a teacher for 1st and 2nd grade in Ridgefield Park (N.J.) Schools, until her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Quackenbush) Dohner of Lincoln, Neb.

Other survivors include two sisters, Virginia (Cupp) Fuhrman of Adrian, Michigan and Marian (Cupp) Wallis of Rome, Georgia.

There is also a grandson, Matthew Wunsh.
