Bernard E. Yocom, 88, Shillington, died October 13, 2006 at 4:26 a.m. in Berks Heim where he resided since 1999.

His wife Fern (Bachman) Yocom died in June of 1999.

Born in Sinking Spring, he was a son of the late Earl C. and Stella M. (Weitzel)Yocom.

Bernard was the owner of Yocom's Motel and Restaurant, Quentin, for many years retiring in 1986.

He was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II.

Bernard was a graduate of Wilson High School in 1936.

He is survived by a daughter Patricia J. (Yocom) Fletcher, Cordova, TN, 4 step-daughters and 2 step-sons.

Bernard is also survived by 5 sisters Louise G. (Yocom) Ellinger, McLean VA, Ruth M. (Yocom) Hartman, Reading, Joyce A. (Yocom) wife of Paul Maier, Shillington, Sandra L. (Yocom) wife of Kenneth Fischer, Sinking Spring, and Sheryn K. (Yocom) wife of Charles Murray, Ladson, SC, and one brother David R. Yocom, Lansdale.

There are also 3 granddaughters, 9 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister Mary E.(Yocom) Kuser and a brother William R. Yocum.

Services will be Tuesday 11:45 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mohnton. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
