Bernard H. O'Neill

Bernard H. O'Neill, 79, of Reading, died September 3, 2009 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Patricia A. (Holdeman) O'Neill.

Born in West Wyomissing, he was a son of the late Elmer L. and Hanna (White) O'Neill.

He was employed as a truck driver for 37 years by Glidden Paint Company, Reading, retiring in 1990.

Bernard was a member of the Grill Fire Company, Oakbrook Fire Company and Teamsters.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Michael B., husband of Linda Miller and Anthony G., husband of Lois Miller, all of Shillington; Lonny D., husband of Janet Miller, Laureldale and Daniel K., husband of Debbie O'Neill, Mohnton; and a daughter, Peggy A. O'Neill, Temple. He is also survived by his twin brother, Benjamin H., husband of Joan O'Neill, Bern Township; his sister, Loretta Arnold, Grill; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by six siblings.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
