Bernard Charles Keturakis, Sr., 75, passed away December 6, 2012 in his Mohnton residence.
He was the husband of L. Gilda (Metzger) Keturakis, whom he married 43 years ago on January 18, 1969.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles C. and Helen M. (Maslar) Keturakis.
He was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School.
Bernard was employed by Carpenter Technology Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of St Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, Reading.
Bernard was a lifetime member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols and past president of the Adams VFW Post. He was also a bowling enthusiast and participated in international bowling tournaments.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Bernard was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Kathleen M., wife of Hank Mulvaney, West Lawn; Kristie M., wife of Bill F. Brinton, Maple Grove and Bernard C. Keturakis, II, husband of Tracy Keturakis, Gouglersville. Also surviving are his siblings: Carol A., wife of John Meridionale, Palmyra, PA; Paul J., husband of Sharon Keturakis, Morgantown and David C., husband of Linda Keturakis, Palmyra, PA. Four grandchildren: John, Ethan, Jamie and Heather also survive him.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 12 p.m. in Slovak Catholic Sokols, 411 Crestmont Street Reading, PA 19611. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bernard's name to the Slovak Catholic Sokols at the above address. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
