Bernard Joseph Cunliffe

On Monday April 6, 2021 Bernard Cunliffe, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 93.

Bernard was born to James and Mary Anne Cunliffe in Eccles, England on April 8, 1927.

He served in the British Navy during WW2, emigrated to Canada, then to the U.S.

Bernard married Lucilla Franklyn on August 27,1955 and raised three children, Andrew, Murray (deceased), and Pamela. He had a long career in industrial textiles. In his youth Bernard had a passion for hiking in the Lake District in northern England. He loved tennis and golf, was a voracious reader, and a diehard fan of Manchester United F.C.. Bernard was a beloved patriarch and his leadership and intellect will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy, children, Andy Cunliffe and Pam Sachenik, and grandchildren: Matthew, Daniel and John Sachenik.

Private services will be held at St. John Baptist de la Salle Parish. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John Baptist de la Salle Parish, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607.
