Bernadine M. Gersbach

Bernadine M. Gersbach, 88, died September 27, 2010 in her West Lawn residence.

Her husband, Francis A. Gersbach, Sr., died August 14, 2009. They were married on October 31, 1939.

Born in Ironwood, MI, she was the daughter of the late Paul P. and Anna M. (Novak) Kolson.

She attended Allentown Central Catholic, and was a graduate of Wilson High School. She also attended Albright College.

Bernadine was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington, where she was an organist for 35 years.

She was an avid reader, loved to bake and was a great pinochle player; however, her favorite pastime was music.

Bernadine is survived by five children, Francis A., Jr., Henderson, NV, Bernadine Kern, W. Palm Beach, FL, Anne M. Conrow,Sinking Spring, Elizabeth E. Hoyle, Rehoboth Beach, DE and Kathryn Gersbach West Lawn. Fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive her.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Mary Louise Gersbach on October 15, 1965, and Dorothy Anne Kreitz on July 15, 2009.

Bernadine loved her husband dearly, and enjoyed traveling with him after their retirement. She also loved her children and grandchildren so very much.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 420 Holland St., Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
