Benjamin A. Van Leer Jr. 87 born October 17, 1933, passed away on April 26, 2021, peacefully in bed at home. Ben was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman, softball player as well as a frequent flyer to all of the local auction houses. He enjoyed going out in the mornings to get his breakfast at the Deluxe Restaurant.

He was preceded by his loving wife, Marion (Smiglewski), his father, Benjamin Van Leer Sr., mother, Virginia Grace (Greenwood), brother, Joseph Van Leer and sister, Virginia (Fiorucci). He is survived by his brother, Edwin, sister, Joan (Livingston) and brother, Raymond. He is also survived by his two sons, Benjamin Van Leer III (Barbara Ann) and John Van Leer Sr. (Linda), six grandchildren: Barbara Ann Hudrick (Joe), Patricia Ann Jones (Matt), Jonathan Van Leer (Megan), Nathan Van Leer (Becca), Jessica Van Leer (Brian), and John Van Leer Jr. (Nicole)and seven greatgrandchildren: Calleigh, Jaxson, Fynn, Jacob, Eliza, Chase and Peyton.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
