Benjamin J. Livingood, 91, of Washington Towers, North Fourth Street, died March 17 at 8:45 a.m. in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, where he had resided since Feb. 22.
His wife, Josephine M. (Corrier) Livingood, died in February 1994.
Born in Elverson, he was a son of the late Benjamin S. and Matilda R. (Roberts) Livingood.
Livingood was employed for 40 years by Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing, retiring as a foreman June 1, 1973.
A 1929 graduate of Morgantown High School, he took various business courses in local colleges.
Livingood was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Reading, where he was a former councilman.
He was a past president and vice president of the Industrial Management Association of Pennsylvania and a past president of the Industrial Management Association of Eastern Pennsylvania.
Livingood was a past master of Puritan Lodge 740, F&AM, West Reading.
He was a life member of the Berkshire Heights Fire Company.
Livingood was a past president of the Reading Foreman's Club of Berks County.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Alice (Livingood) Schmoyer, McCormick, S.C.; and three sons: Benjamin C., Harrisburg; James D., West Reading; and William R., Reading.
Other survivors include four grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Elverson Cemetery.
