Benjamin C. Jones

Benjamin C. Jones, 91, of Doral Drive, Flying Hills, died Oct. 18 at 2:30 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Oct. 8.

His wife, Ann Jane (Dodge) Jones, died July 16, 2000.

Born in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia County, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Ann (de Bernard) Jones.

Jones was president of Croll & Keck, Reading, where he worked 32 years, retiring as chairman of the board in 1977.

He was a member of St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, Plowville.

Jones was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

He was a fourth-degree knight with the Knights of Columbus Council, Reading.

Jones is survived by a son, Thomas A., Kempton; and two daughters, Claire J. (Jones) Tucker, Richmond, Va., and Christine J. (Jones) Clemmens, Mohnton.

There are also four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Benjamin C., in September 2000.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
