Ben Varone

Ben Varone, 87, formerly of Reading, died May 31, in the Berkshire Center, Exeter Twp., where he had resided since July, 2004.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Concetta (Ricci) Varone.

Varone had been employed for 20 years as a salesman for Hardwick Clothing, Tenn., retiring in 1985.

He was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School.

Varone was an Army veteran during World War II.

Surviving are two sons, Lawrence A. Varone, and Steven S. Varone, both of Reading.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.Viewing will be 9 a.m.-10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
