Beatrice M. O'Connell, 94, died Nov. 18 at 8:45 a.m. in the Lutheran Home at Topton, where she had resided since April.
She was taken to the Lutheran Home at Topton from Outlook Pointe, Reiffton.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Kathryn (Driscoll) Charde.
O'Connell was employed for 30 years as a special education teacher in the Yonkers (N.Y.) School District, retiring in 1972.
A 1926 graduate of Elizabeth Seton High School, Yonkers, she was a 1930 graduate of Mount St. Vincent College, New York City, and a 1946 graduate of New York University with a master's degree in special education.
O'Connell was a former council member of the Exceptional Children Association for New York State.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. James J., Hampton Bays, N.Y., and Dennis M., Califon, N.J.; and a daughter, Betty (O'Connell) Mraz, Exeter Township.
Other survivors include nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, the Bronx. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
