Bart B. Hannahoe, 70, of Wyomissing, died June 30, 2010 in New York City.
He was the husband of Veronica E. "Bonnie" (Janis) Hannahoe.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Bart B. and Helen (Schmicker) Hannahoe.
He was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School, a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph's University and an MBA graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1969.
Bart was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was employed by National Penn Investors Trust Company as an investment officer, retiring in 2004.
Bart was an adjunct economics professor at Penn State University, Berks Campus, Albright College and Alvernia University.
He was also a member of the first class of Eucharistic Ministers at St. Catharine of Siena Church in Mt. Penn.
A living descendant of Tom Hannahoe, Bart was known for his annual appearance at the Shamrock Serenade every St. Patrick's Day night which commemorated the pact between Tom Hannahoe and Alva Schaeffer.
In later years, Bart pursued his avocation impersonating Benjamin Franklin for Penn Serve, the state organization which promotes volunteerism. He also appeared at many local schools and libraries.
He was treasurer of the Washington Library, board member of Gethsemane Cemetery, Episcopal House and the Tuberculosis Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Patricia, wife of David Conner, New York, NY, Jeanne, wife of David Mason, Novi, MI and Susan, wife of Mickey Pitorak, Sinking Spring.
He is also survived by his sister Mary, wife of David Stumhofer, Durham, NH and six grandchildren: Michael Pitorak, Carolyn Pitorak, Emily Mason, Megan Mason, Lily Conner and Ava Conner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's R. C. Church, 151 North 9th St. Reading, pa 19601. Burial will be in private in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to The Leo House, 332 West 23rd. St., NY, NY 10011. Edward J.
