Barry D. Lehr, 74, of West Reading, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was the loving husband of over 52 years to Susan M. (Carrozza) Lehr.
Born in West Reading to the late Edgar and Doris M. (Baker) Lehr, Barry graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1970. It was the first year following the merger of West Reading and Wyomissing. He worked as a truck driver for Eastern Millwork in Exeter, and, following the company's closure, he worked for the Beer Mart in Reading.
He loved to laugh and had a unique sense of humor. He was a compassionate caretaker to his parents and in-laws, and a kind, caring human being.
Barry was a great athlete. In high school, he played basketball, track and field, and enjoyed golfing.
Barry enjoyed traveling with his family. Some of his most treasured memories were summer vacations to Wildwood, NJ with his wife, children, and the Matz family. More recently, Barry traveled to Hawaii, took many trips to Atlantic City, went on cruises, and celebrated his 50-year wedding anniversary in Key West.
Barry enjoyed celebrating and hosting friends and family during special occasions. He loved holidays and had a strong passion for decorating his home during the Christmas season. He especially loved hosting wild pool parties on the 4th of July. He enjoyed working on house projects with his wife and was especially proud of the tiki bar he designed and built in his backyard.
Barry will be greatly missed. Left to cherish Barry's memory are his wife, Susan, and their children, Kevin B. Lehr, husband of Michell Lehr, of West Ocean City, MD, and Krystle I. Boyd, wife of Trystan Boyd, of Panama City Beach, FL. Barry is also survived by his brother, Michael Lehr, husband of Jennifer Lehr, of Sinking Spring. He is also loved by his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephew, great-niece, and great-nephew. Barry will also be missed by his beloved dog, Mungie.
In lieu of flowers, Contributions in Barry's memory can be made to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508, or https://berksarl.org/.
