Barry Lee Shenk

Barry Lee Shenk, 79, of Hamburg, passed away on July 28, 2026. Born in Reading, he was the son of Walter E. and Bernice (Heckman) Shenk.

Barry was a 1964 graduate of Hamburg High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War.

He most recently worked as a custodian for the Berks County Intermediate Unit.

Barry was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association, the Hamburg Gun Club, Shartlesville Fire Company, Leesport Fire Company, Shoemakersville Fire Company, Keystone Social Club, and the Hamburg Legion. 

Barry was a fun, caring, and dedicated father, brother, and friend. He was also an avid baseball player and golfer throughout his life. He is survived by his children, Chad Edward Shenk (Jennie Gale Noll), of Rochester, NY, and Shaun Barry Shenk (Breanna Konrade-Helm), of Biloxi, MS. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Margaret and Lyd Noll, as well as Noelle and Ayda Shenk. He will be missed by his sister, Kathy L. Sterner, his niece, Heather M. Sterner-Gift, and nephew, Jason B. Sterner.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 5:30-7PM at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 40 South 4th Street, Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, or Disabled American Veterans.
