Barbara Lou Rightmire

Barbara L. Rightmire of Blandon, Pa, a former resident of Closter NJ, passed away peacefully on December 14th. Born in Pine Bush, NY to Rev. Willard Wullschleger and his wife Estelle, she attended Bergenfield, NJ School District and completed her education at Dickinson College. An accomplished reader, she was a lifelong librarian serving in both Closter and Tenafly, retiring at the age of 86.

Barbara was an amazing Mom and Nanny and is best described as a kind and caring person. She is survived by her daughters, Glenna Wiesner (Ralph) and Alison VanDuren (Bill), her brother Philip Wullschleger and wife Eileen, and was predeceased by her sister Jane Muller, wife of Jim. Six grandchildren Max, Karl, and Katrina Wiesner; Madi VanDuren Masser (Glenn), Greta VanDuren Tamanini (Beau) and Tori VanDuren.

Barbara had many outstanding traits. She was wise, reflective, a great friend to many, a gentle soul, yet resilient. She loved pets and strays her kids could get away with bringing anything home! She had a sly sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed practical jokes. She cherished nothing greater than making memories alongside her children and grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in her honor can be made to a library or an animal rescue of your choice.
