Barbara Jean Kerling, 61, of Spring Township, died November 10, 2010 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
She was the wife of George J. Kerling, whom she married on May 6, 1972.
Born in Abington, she was a daughter of William G. Creswick, Hatboro, and the late Lois J. (Schreiber) Creswick.
She was a 1967 graduate of Upper Moreland High School, Willow Grove and a 1971 graduate of Kutztown State College, earning her B.A. in Elementary Education.
She was employed for the Reading Hospital and Medical Center for over 30 years, working as the Lead X-Ray Scheduler and just recently as an Intake Specialist.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wyomissing, where she sang with the choir.
Barbara spent her Friday nights with her husband and close friends, Jim and Pat Althouse, having dinner and going to the movies. She loved vacationing in Ocean City, NJ. and Disney World. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two siblings: William G., Jr., husband of Alice M. Creswick, Willow Grove and Carol A., wife of Michael R. Hall, Collegeville. Five nieces, two nephews, one grand-niece and two grand-nephews survive her. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Buster.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
