Barbara Jean Jones, 72, passed away on October 14, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of John MacLeod Jones. They married in 1977 and shared 45 years together before his passing in 2022.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Florence (Zdradzynski) Clemens. Barbara graduated from Holy Name High School and worked as an Office Manager for S.A. Comunale Co. in West Lawn. She was previously employed at Traveler’s Insurance and Bulk Chemicals. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales in Robesonia.
Barbara enjoyed going to church, as well as being outdoors in her garden. She also was an avid reader ensuring the library always had a customer. Being a health conscience woman, she was also engaged in walks and hikes on a regular routine. Barbara was a sports fan of all Philadelphia teams and enjoyed watching March Madness and college basketball, especially with John. Together, they loved vacationing at the beach from which Barbara would draw inspiration for her paintings. Above anything, she cherished her grandchildren and spending time with them.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her selflessness and the way she was always willing to give to and help others.
Those cherishing Barbara’s memory are her children: Timothy MacLeod Jones and Chris Jones; her grandchildren: Kayleigh MacLeod Jones, Brienn MacLeod Jones, Madisen MacLeod Jones and Ben Jones; as well as her sisters: Mary Anne Ruane and Susan Pernice. She is predeceased by her brother, Michael Gerard Jones.
A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611, with burial of the urn to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 a.m. to the beginning of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales at 320 N. Church St, Robesonia, PA 19551.
