Barbara Ann Jablonski (Lefkowecz), 81, of Temple passed away unexpectedly at her
home on October 1, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Irene Lefkowecz, she was raised by the St. Catherine's Children's Home of Reading and later lived with Henry and Hildagarde Plank. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and was employed by the David Crystal Co for many years until they closed their doors. She also worked for the PA Liquor Control Board until her retirement.
Barbara was a hardworking, very sociable woman who loved making pierogies, poppy seed, apricot and nut rolls for the holidays for many years. She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols, as well as the South Ends Club. She enjoyed trips to the casinos and to Las Vegas, but she especially enjoyed her cocktails. She had a talent for working with others, and taking care of her friends in need.
She is predeceased by her husband, John "Pikes" Jablonski, living in Reading and later enjoyed many years at her home in Temple, and North Wildwood, NJ with her partner, Scott Addis and his family.
In addition to Scott, Barbara is survived by her brothers Vincent Cronan, of Laureldale, and Robert Plank, of Shillington, and her sisters, Barbara Allison and Margaret Pearsall, wife of George, of Charlottesville, VA. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, along with Scott's children, his grandchildren and their many family pets.
A Mass of Chrisitan burial will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605 at 10 a.m. The viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m to 9:30 a.m at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 1956. Burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Babara's memory may be made to Humane Pennsylvania 1729 11th St, Reading PA 19604. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
