Barbara J. Henning

Barbara J. (Conner) Henning, 84, passed away November 30, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. in Berks Heim, Bern Township.

Born January 18, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Jesse R. Conner and Miriam Fry Conner.

She was a graduate of the former West Reading High School.

A United States Navy veteran serving from February 1944 to her honorable discharge in February 1946 as a Seaman First Class. This was one of the most important and cherished events in Barbara's life. Many memories of her Navy experiences were shared with her friends and children. She was a member of the Women's Veterans of Berks County.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Annie and Ed Harlin of Bern Township; a son and daughter-in-law Richard and Christine Wildermuth and their daughter Sarah, a senior at LaFayette College, all of Reading.

Barbara is also survived by two nieces, Sally Rassow Snyder of Whitfield, and Amy Christman of Temple, and one nephew, Thomas Davis of Wyomissing.

She was predeceased by a sister, Polly A. Rassow.
