Barbara H. Greenawalt

Barbara H. (Jerald) Greenawalt, 92, formerly of Laureldale, died June 11, 2007 at 2:30 pm in the Willow Ridge Center, Montgomery County, where she had been a patient since March 31, 2006.

She was the widow of Samuel Willard Greenawalt, who died February 7, 1978.

Born August 3, 1914, in Slate Run, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Daniel and Janet (Zacharias) Jerald.

Barbara graduated from Mansfield High School and earned her Registered Nurse degree at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg in 1936.

After a long nursing career, she retired in 1975 from Glens Falls Hospital, Glens Falls, N.Y.

In 1978, she moved to Laureldale, P.A., where she was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet G. wife of Edward M. Hecht of Elkins Park, PA and Mary Karen G. Imre of Easton, Conn.

Other survivors include a sister, Esther Adelaide Jerald of Mansfield, P.A. and two grandsons, Daniel and Matthew Hecht.

Services will be Friday at 1:00 pm in New Bethel Church, 135 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton, Albany Twp., with the Revs. Grant Wickert and David Blitch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service.
