Barbara J. Ely

Barbara J. Ely, 72, of Oley, passed away on Sunday morning, March 20, 2011 in her residence.

She was the wife of William F. Ely.

Born in Temple, she was a daughter of the late John and Marie (Folk) Adam and Step Daughter of the late Arlene (Kline) Adam.

She was employed at Kelray Knitting Mills, Oley then at Kraft Foods, Trexlertown. She then worked for East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons and lastly worked for the Lutheran Home at Topton, prior to retiring. After retirement she worked at Tarsus in Fleetwood.

She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Oley and the Oley Senior Citizens Group. She was also a member of the Oley Fire Company and Shoemakersville Fire Company Ladies Auxillary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her Sons: Jeff A. and wife Lisa M. of Oley; Terry L. and wife Roxanne of Boyertown; Randy W. of Fleetwood and Greg S. and wife Lisa L. of Muhlenberg Township. Also a Brother: Robert Adam of Topton. She is also survived by her Grandchildren: Jessica Stitzel, Brent Ely, Andrea Ely, Stephanie Wagner, Zachary Wagner and Travis Ely as well as her Great Grandchildren: Katie, Jakob, Caleb, Holden and Holly.

She was predeceased by a Daughter: Debra Chesney on February 3, 2011 and a Daughter-in-law: Debra Ely on December 20, 2006.

Services will be held in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley, on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 11:00 am. Friends and Family are invited to the viewings on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm and Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
