Barbara A. Courtney

Barbara A. Courtney, 67, of West Broad Street, Shillington, died July 12 at 9:11 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since June 26.

She was the wife of Clarence H. Courtney Jr.

Born in Shillington, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Cleo (Reddig) Trupp.

Courtney had been employed for 33 years as a bookkeeper and secretary for Shillington Restaurant, last working in 1997.

She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington.

Courtney was a 1952 graduate of Shillington High School.

She also is survived by a son, David S., Shillington, and a daughter, Beth A. (Courtney) Woytko, West Lawn.

Other survivors include a stepson, Lawrence K. Courtney, Northport, Fla.

There also are eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Private graveside services will be in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
