Barbara J. Bostic

Barbara J. Bostic, 88, passed away peacefully at Rittenhouse Village on December 16, 2024. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Wilson and Kathryn (Krott) Drayer. Barbara was the loving wife of James P. Bostic, with whom she shared 39 years of wedded bliss.

Barbara was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School. She furthered her education at the McCann School of Business, where she learned the skills needed to open her own medical transcriptionist business, yet her greatest joy came from being a mother.

Deeply rooted in her faith, she was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. Barbara was not only a passionate tennis player but also had a love for dancing. As a creative writer, she expressed herself through poetry and saw some of her work published. She cherished her visits to Avalon, NJ, particularly those spent with her husband Jim and brother Chris

Barbara is survived by her sons: Peter Flickinger (Catherine), of Mount Penn, Bradley Flickinger (Erica Beston), of New York City, and John Flickinger (Shari), of Fleetwood; her grandsons: Michael, Nathan, and Adam Flickinger; her granddaughter, Amanda Wickman; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Christopher Drayer (Michele), of Leesport.

In addition to her spouse, she was predeceased by her great aunt, Helen Krott.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:30AM at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Family and friends will be received from 11-11:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
