Audrey J. Colapreto

Audrey J. Colapreto, 81, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away in her West Reading residence on Saturday, August 28, 2021. She was the longtime companion of the late Richard O'Neil. Born in West Reading to the late Herman and Grace (White) Witwer, Audrey graduated from West Reading High School '57.

For over 34 years, Mrs. Colapreto was responsible for managing the cafeterias of the Wyomissing Area School District. Though she officially retired in 2017, she still worked part time feeding the youth of the community.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, West Reading.

As a young woman, Audrey was part of the West Reading Drum Corps and played high school basketball. She held a deep love for all animals. A fantastic cook and baker, her recipes (particularly her pumpkin bread and graham cracker crust pie) will be passed on through her family. When not baking, she could be found working in her garden.

Audrey's memory will be forever treasured by her children, Nanette D. Bush (John C.) of Shillington and Marc J. Colapreto Sr. (Dawn M.) of West Reading; her grandchildren, Vanessa A. Bush, Steven M. O'Neil, and Marc J. Colapreto Jr; and her brother, Jerry Witwer (Betty) of Leesport. She is also survived by her companion, Bella, a Pomeranian mix. She was predeceased by her daughter, Shari L. Kelly (survived by husband Robert), and her brother, Harold Witwer (survived by wife Gloria).

Audrey was like a mother and grandmother to all of her children and grandchildren's friends. Her extended family includes everyone she "adopted" and her family at the Wyomissing Area School District.

A Committal Service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11:30 AM at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter. Friends and family are welcome to pay respects on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and again Friday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading.
