Arthur T. Kane

Arthur T. Kane, 91, of West Wyomissing, died June 4, 2009 in Mifflin Center.

His wife, Monica E. (Nierle) Kane died November 18, 2008. They were married on October 9, 1948.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ottilia (Molodoch) Kane.

He was a 1935 graduate of Girard College, Philadelphia.

Arthur was a clerk for 34 years by the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1978. After retirement, he worked part-time for Heck Brother's Florist.

Arthur was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving during WW II.

Arthur is survived by his son, Thomas J., husband of Kathryn L. (Yaklich) Kane, Spring Twp.; and three grandchildren, Mary K., wife of Andrew Kaufmann; Elizabeth A., fiancee of David Columbo and Patrick M. Kane. One great-grandson, Cole A. Kaufmann, one niece, Linda A. Lucas and two great-nephews, Eric E., husband of Lynn Danneberg and Paul H., husband of Jessica Danneberg also survive him.

He was predeceased by his sister, Ethel J. Huyett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Edward J.
