Arthur J. Rothermel

Arthur John Rothermel, Jr., 54, of Blandon, died December 8, 2010 of natural causes at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Donna D. (Allwein) Rothermel, whom he married May 4, 1981.

Born in the Reading Hospital on January 7, 1956, he was a son of the late Arthur J. Sr., and Mary Agnes (Shuman) Rothermel.

Arthur was a 1973 graduate of Fleetwood High School.

He was a member of Maidencreek Church.

Arthur was employed a number of years as a car salesman with A-Z U Pull It., Shoemakersville, last working in 2004.

His passion was racing. When he was younger, he raced modifieds at the former Reading Fairgrounds.

He was actively involved with his grandchildren, racing quarter midgets at DQMRC in Honeybrook.

Arthur is also survived by a son, Arthur J. III, husband of Jacqueline M. (Hess) Rothermel of Blandon.

Other survivors include five grandchildren: Brevan, Andrew, Paige, Noah and Payton.

He was predeceased by a sister, Delaine Seidt, a grandson, Zachary Rothermel and a sister-in-law, Sherry L. Allwein.

Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Sara A. Hertzog officiating. Viewings will be held Friday evening, 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Saturday morning, 9:00 am until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maidencreek Cemetery.
