Arnold R. Klein, 85, of Wyomissing, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, in Reading Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Rose Marie (Urbanavage), to whom he was married to for 58 years.

Born in Hazelton, he was the son of the late Valentine and Helen (Frey) Klein.

Arnie graduated from Tamaqua High School and also attended Penn State University.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving as a radio operator stationed in Germany.

Arnie was employed as a foreman at CarTech for over 30 years.

Arnie was a legitimate coal cracker. He loved going to military air shows and listening to classical music. He loved to read, collect coins and slayed Sudoku puzzles. Arnie was a true authority on field hockey and a Nittany Lion football fan. He loved walking his grand puppies. He especially loved his grandchildren and often sent them ice cream money. He was always hands on, helping his family when they needed him. He taught his children and grandchildren the value of hard work and to always do their best.

He is survived by two daughters, Denise, wife of James Mitchell, Stevens, PA and Melissa, wife of Creton Kalfoglou, Morris Plains, NJ. A son-in-law, Brian Schmanske, Mclean, VA, one brother, Earl, husband of Marion Klein, Tamaqua, and seven grandchildren, Kaitlan Mitchell, Chelsea Mitchell, Haley Mitchell, Jameson Mitchell, Nathalie Schmanske, Nicole Schmanske and Alexander Kalfoglou also survive him.

Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Arnie was predeceased by a daughter, Janeen Schmanske, a sister, June Burt, and two brothers, Thomas and Bernard Klein.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
