Armand M. Matusen

Armand M. Matusen, 71, of Wyomissing, died November 15th in the Emergency Room at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the widower of Virginia (Carr)Matusen, who died November 10, 1991.

Born in Chicago, IL., he was a son of the late Solomon and Anna (Ballin) Matusen.,

He was a graduate of the University of Chicago and earned his masters degree in Education from the University of Massacuetts at Amherst.

Matusen was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Reading.

He was employed 25 years at Lane Fabric Corporation, Haverhill, Mass., retiring as an executive vice president in 2002.

Matusen was previously employed as a middle school science teacher in Marblehead and Amesbury, Mass.

He also worked as a research scientist in Boston and Chicago.

Matusen is survived by a son, Darren Matusen of Phoenix, Arizona.

Other survivors include a sister, Rena (Matusen) Appel of Chicago and Elizabeth Keller, with whom he resided.

Services will be Friday at 11:00 am in Christ Episcopal Church, 5th & Court Streets, Reading. Viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Newark Pond Cemetery, Neward, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gastrointestinal Research Foundation, Chicago, IL., or Humane Society, Newburytort, Mass. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
