Arlene M. Meas

Arlene Mae (Riegel) Meas, 75, died August 22, 2011 in her Laureldale Borough residence.

She was the wife of John J. Meas whom she married October 14, 1961.

Born April 6, 1936 in West Leesport, she was a daughter of the late Elias W. and Kathryn A. (Werner) Riegel.

Arlene was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School and a 1957 graduate of Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse with The Reading Hospital and Medical Center for 40 years, retiring April 9, 1998.

Arlene was a member of Epler's United Church of Christ, Bern Township.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, David J., husband of Debbie R. (Nygard) Meas of Kenhorst.

Also surviving is a granddaughter, Jessica Nygard.

A Memorial Service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
