Arlene M. Kerper Hoffman

Arlene "Jean" M. Kerper Hoffman, 81, died of natural causes on August 1st at the Reading Hospital.

Born in Mt. Penn, she was the daughter of the late Eugene C. and Eva E. (Scheiffley) Hassler.

She was a 1942 graduate of the Mt. Penn High School.

Jean was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shillington.

She is survived by one son, David R. Hoffman of Sinking Spring and Lisa J. Hoffman Holcomb of West Reading.

Other survivors include two step-sons, James Kerper of Leesport and John Kerper of Lebanon, and two step-daughters Ellen (Kerper) Martin of Douglassville and Martha (Kerper) Linne of Stroudsburg, one brother, Eugene C. Hassler of Tarpensprings, Fl and one sister Caroline A. (Hassler) Bush of Lincoln Park.

There are also one grandchild, Dwight D. Hoffman, and three step- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shillington. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 101 Good Drive Lancaster, PA 17601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
