Arlene M. Hartz

Arlene Margaret Hartz, 94, of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Complete Care at Berkshire in Exeter Township.

She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Harz, Jr.

Born in Reading, she was daughter of the late Harry C. Rudy, Sr. and Ethel (Knicely) Rudy.

She was employed by Governor Mifflin School District as the cafeteria manager until retiring. She was also an active member of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Arlene is survived by her sister, Carol Gromis, and her brother-in-law Gerald Hartz, husband of Heidi Hartz. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandy (Hartz) Sheetz, and son-in-law, Robert Sheetz, her brothers, Harry C. Rudy Jr. and Charles Rudy, and sister, Betty M. Spannuth.

Arlene dedicated her life to serving her family, community and church. She was an avid baker and enjoyed cooking and baking for fundraisers. She also enjoyed traveling to many places around the world.
