Arlene Mae (Hunsicker) Long, 91, died Monday, May 11, 2009 in Lancaster General Hospital where she had been a patient since Saturday. Formerly of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, she had been a resident of The Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown since October, 2002.

Her husband of 37 years, Harold H. Long, died in July, 1997.

Born in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania on August 9, 1917, Arlene was the daughter of the late Claude O. and Minnie S. (Krause) Hunsicker. She was predeceased by a brother, Clair Hunsicker.

Arlene was employed by the former Gilbert Associates and the Reading Hospital as a switchboard operator retiring in 1979 from the former Wide-A-Wake Shirt Company of Reading.

Surviving are three daughters, Carol J. (Muschko) Lechleitner, wife of Robert B., of Colony Park, Pa; Eileen L. (Muschko) McKemy Stitzel, wife of Richard A., of Wyomissing, Pa., and Beverly J. (Muschko) Miller, wife of David G. of Phoenixville, Pa. and a step-son, Dale Long, husband of Diane, of Hazleton, Pa.

Arlene was blessed with three grandchildren: Tracy Stroebele of Womelsdorf; Leanne Campbell, wife of William, of Reading and Christopher Lechleitner, husband of Jennifer, of Sinking Spring; five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; as well as many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading with the Rev. Steven E. Belinski officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reifton. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to 3:30 p.m. services in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arlene's memory to the Tree of Life, Masonic Villages, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
