Arlene D. Haas

Arlene D. (Faust) Haas, 98, passed away on January 15, 2025 at the Berks Heim, where she resided since 2018.

Born in Leesport, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Florence (Seaman) Faust. She graduated from Ontelaunee School District. She was proud to be a homemaker, taking care of her daughters, and creating a warm and loving homelife. Later in life she worked in the sewing industry. She enjoyed reading, watching a good movie or show, and lunching with her friends and sisters.

Arlene had been a long-term resident at Berks Heim, developing a deep bond with the care-giving staff, whom she came to consider as her second family. Even in her transition to the Memory Care Unit, the staff made sure to stop in and visit with her. During her stay, her sisters also moved into the facility, allowing them to spend more time together, reminiscent of their childhood.

Arlene's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff for the love, support and care shown to Arlene during her time there.

Arlene is survived by her daughters: Gale Withers, wife of Terry, and Diane Salks, wife of Davis; as well as her grandchildren, Aleks Salks, husband of Aleah, and Alaina Salks, wife of John Spideliere; her several great grandchildren; her sisters, Betty Strause, and Edith Dreibelbis; her brothers, Clyde Faust, and Clair Faust; and the staff at Berks Heim she considered family. She was pre-deceased by her brothers and sisters: Clifford Faust, Floyd Faust, George Faust, Mildred Faust and Jane (Faust) Greusel.

The funeral service for Arlene will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560. Friends and family may gather from 11 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will follow in Belleman's Church Cemetery in Mohrsville.
