Arlene Bordner, 94, of Tilden Township died in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township January 5th, 2015. She was the widow of Ammon E. Bordner who died January 29th, 1985. Arlene was born in Albany Township and was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Lizzie (Pauley) Geiger. She was a homemaker most of her life, and was known as "Granny" by all her family and friends. Arlene was a long time member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Survivors include daughter, Avalona A. (Bordner) widow of Robert L. Hartman, grandsons, Jeffrey S. Hartman and Michael S. husband of Tina Hartman, and two great-grandsons, Alex M. and Austin M. Hartman, all of Tilden Township. She is also survived by a sister, Beatrice (Geiger) Bennecoff, Hamburg, widow of Lester and 11 nieces and nephews, including Edwinna wife of Edwin Eroh of Tilden Township with whom she shared a special bond. Brothers, Eugene, Joseph and sisters, Violet and Mildred, predeceased Arlene. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10th from the First United Church of Christ, 76 S. 3rd St., Hamburg, PA. at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township. The Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
