Arlene A. Webber Berger, 88 died on May 12th at the Golden Living Center, Reading, PA. She was predeceased by two husbands, Carl W. Webber on September 14, 1984 and William F. Berger on October 17, 1998. She was formerly of Hamburg, Bernville and Reading. Arlene was born in Tilden Township on November 27, 1925 and was the daughter of the late William I. and Ruth N. (Martin) Reppert. She was a 1943 graduate of Hamburg High School and a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Arlene worked various jobs throughout the area including Price Battery, Hamburg, knitting mills throughout Berks County, and Weis Markets. She last worked at the Hamburg Center as a supervisor of the custodial department for 20 years retiring in 1986. Arlene was also a member of the following organizations: Union Fire Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary, Hamburg, Ladies Auxiliary to the Shoemakersville Fire Company, and the Hamburg, Bernville and Laureldale senior citizens. Arlene is survived by her children, Master Sergeant, Retired Army Dennis A. husband of Traci Webber, Reading. Traci was also Arlene's caregiver for the past six years, two daughters, Carlene Schearer, Kutztown and Judith Webber, Hamburg. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Dorothea Huey, Harriet Kline and Darlene Klopp all of Bernville and a sister Dollie M. Gernert, Douglasville. Other survivors include 3 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 7 nephews. In addition to being predeceased by her 2 husbands, she was predeceased by 2 daughter-in-laws, Delores (Gaukler) Webber on August 1974, Sonya A. (Wright) Webber November, 2001, a grandson Christopher A. Webber, son of Delores and Dennis Webber and a granddaughter, Lisa A. (Wink) Waizenegger, November, 2001, daughter of Judith Webber and Robert Wink. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 20th from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th St. Hamburg.The Reverend David J. Duquette will officiate. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
